Lost a Passport?

British passport holder - All found documents are returned to the British Passport Office or your embassy. Any enquires about lost or stolen British passports can be made to the passport advice line: 0300 222 0000.

For all other countries– please contact your embassy/consulate to report the passport as lost. You can do this for some countries online.

You can also report your passport as missing/stolen with the police by calling 101.

Lost a Hold Bag?

We do not receive any hold baggage that has been checked into the aircraft. We are also unable to update you on the status of any missing hold baggage enquiries, as we do not have any access to these systems.

If your hold baggage is missing or did not arrive from an aircraft then this must be reported directly to the airline. The best way to do this is by reporting it to the baggage desk before you leave the reclaim area. For the majority of airlines, you will then be given a PIR number to track the status of your report through the world tracer system online - https://shorturl.at/LMUW9.

If you have already left the reclaim area, then proceed to one of the check-in desks for the airline you travelled with to report the baggage as lost. Our best advice is to ensure you have reported the baggage as lost BEFORE you leave the airport.

If you did not retrieve your baggage from the reclaim area and it was left, you will need to return to one of the check-in desks for the airline you travelled with at London Gatwick to be escorted into the reclaim area. You must bring your passport and your boarding pass to do so.

Lost in the Airport?

If you have lost your item within London Gatwick, this includes at security, at a restaurant, in the toilets, on the inter-terminal shuttle then you will need to log the item at https://www.lostproperty.org

The lost property office is located on floor 0 in the South Terminal, once confirmed that your item has been located, you are then able to collect the item within their opening times stated on their website.
